Shutdown the federal air traffic controllers, TSA, and transporting system and ground the airlines. Stop federal insurance to hospitals. There are a lot of things that will be shutdown. FDA food inspection will be stopped so food cost will rise. USDA inspectors at meat processing plants. US Customers inspectors at harbor port shutdown goods. Financial money transfers internationally will stop.

As long as people perceive that the US currencies have value for future items that can be bought and their investment is protected, there isn’t any overspending. @EthelMaeHenderson Yes, it was in 2019 when the Dems controlled Congress and wrote that into law. Like any law, it can be amended by the party that now controls the House removing the payment.
