  1. It appears that the helicopter directly struck the 1,200 ft radio tower below the red warning beacon. The helicopter pilot was probably flying VFR on the clear night. The helicopter was flying too low below the known radio tower marked on navigation charts and using landmarks to fly.

  4.  @rayray8687  The expensive night vision has a green tint, the cheaper ones only enhance the light and dark with no color. A radio tower has other lights on the structure to outline the shape of the structure at night for pilots instead of just a single blinking red beacon. There was a Notice To Airman (NOTAM) on the non-working radio tower obstruction lights, the top red beacon light was working.
