Canada is the largest crude oil supplier to the US, expect the price of gas to rise.

The price of cars, consumer products, and agriculture produce at the supermarket will increase. American companies have long-term contracts with Canadian and Mexican companies to get the best price for their goods. American companies can’t break the long-term contracts and start looking for American companies, they will have to pass on the tariff cost to US consumers.

Expect US layoffs as the manufacturing parts from Canada and Mexico tariff disruptions causes supply chain problems.

@MarkoJaric107 Tariffs start today, just wait awhile.

@jeepninja1 Tariffs are paid by the importer. Canada hasn’t increased the tariff on US oil, only Trump has placed a 25% tariff on Canadian oil. The cost to Canadians will be the same for US oil.

@jeepninja1 Canada did not say how they would retaliate, but most likely it wouldn’t hurt their citizens in the tariff war against Trump.

If your home was burnt down in the wildfires or washed away in the hurricane rain, you should quickly head to the lumber store if you were planning to rebuild. Canada supplies 80% of the lumber in US homebuilding projects.

@Joe-pz4pj Exploration, exploration wells, production wells, means of transporting oil without infrastructure like pipelines to the refineries cost money. Bringing in a producing oil well is based on supply and demand. It’s cost effective to have a known supply, instead of drilling for a new supply and increasing the cost to the consumer.

@T-Bone. It’s cost effective to have a known supply, instead of drilling for a new supply and increasing the cost to the consumer.

Trump only gave China a 10% tariff, hoping they would only retaliate slightly. China being Communist, could retaliate severely not by increasing their tariffs, but banning the export of rare metals used in electronics, causing the DOW to drop like a rock.

@jeepninja1 Trump added the tariffs, not anyone else.
