Business jets flies higher and faster than commercial airline jets with its swept back thin wings. They need to deploy slats and flaps and use their engines to power through when landing. When they lost both engines on final, there was no way they could have glided to a landing without engine power and fell like a rock.

@jpdemer5 When you hit stall speed, you lose lift and isn't flying any more and become a hunk of metal falling like a rock.

@jpdemer5 That military pilot knew he lost power and declared an emergency landing on a long military runway on a military base, the business jet was on final on a short civilian runway in the city.
