Both the Ukrainian and Russian towed howitzers and the self-propelled howitzers have approximately the same range. In an artillery duel you “Shoot and Scoot” to avoid counter-artillery return fire on your position. After firing you either move out of range of enemy return fire or move to a new firing position. The Russians are either poorly trained, lazy, or have logistics problems with gas and maintenance for the self-propelled howitzers to move them and heavy trucks to move the towed howitzers.

@jeremywilliams4762 The Ukrainians drone video shows that the artillery duel was much closer, because of the 8 km radio range of the drone controller; otherwise you wouldn't have it on video.

@jeremywilliams4762 Yes, the same for the Russian's artillery which could be a max 37 km behind the front line, which because of the Ukrainian drone they were not.
