  1. Since the Ukrainians have Soviet era tanks and had captured numerous Russian tanks, the Russian BTR couldn’t tell whose side the tanks were. The Ukrainian also wasn’t sure whose side the BTR was until it was at point blank range with the painted “Z”.

  2.  @kolumbos  The Russian BTR was heading toward the Ukrainian tanks, guarding the front. For the Ukrainians anything in front of them would be Russians; they waited until a positive ID was made on the Russian BTR before firing.

  3.  @kolumbos  It must have been a small “Z” on the Russian BTR that the Ukrainian tank had to wait until it was at point-blank range to ID it as Russian, otherwise the Ukrainian tank would have fired at a longer range.

  4.  @kolumbos  This wasn’t in Ukraine, it was in Russian Kursk, the Russians in the BTR probably never saw a Russian tank with a cope cage. The Russians in the BTR fighting on Russian soil, probably had no combat experience and didn’t ID the tanks as possible Ukrainian tanks.

  6. The HA WACI HUMVEE fired one round for the drone to confirm the target hit and then fired the other unguided rockets.
