  1. The Patriot battery is normally a stationary air defense system used to protect high value asset. The Ukrainians quickly disassemble the Patriot battery and quickly moved it up to the front line and used it as an offensive system ambushing the Tu-22M3. With the Ukrainians downing two of Russian A-50 early warning surveillance planes, the Tu-22M3 had no warning even flying over their own airspace. Its doubtful that the Soviet era S-200 shot down the modern Tu-22M3 without being alerted by the bombers missile alert system.
