  1. As long as the UAV flies in international airspace it’s no problem and poses no threat if it is unarmed. Back in 2013 the Iranians tried to shoot down a US MQ-1 drone with their Soviet era Su-25 firing 250 rounds but totally missed the slow flying drone. The next time a MQ-1 drone appeared in international airspace they decided to send their Vietnam era US made F-4 phantom with air-air missiles. What the Iranian ground base radars or the F-4 airborne radars didn’t pick up was the MQ-1 was being escorted by two F-22s. The F-22s flew underneath and saw the F-4 was carrying missiles and broadcast to the Iranian F-4 while suddenly popping up next to the F-4 wing; “You really oughta go home”; which they promptly did.
