The Ukrainians waited until the Russians crossed the minefield up to the abandon tree line and started to dismount their soldiers before the Ukrainians started firing their cluster munitions and regular artillery shells. There were NO entrenched Ukrainians in the tree line, because they wouldn’t fire cluster munitions against the Russian “Cannon Fodder” so close to their own troops. It was poor Russian training.
