  1. You can tell this is a new Russian front by the trees in the forest still standing and civilian homes not totally destroyed by Russian artillery and glide bombs. The border between the Ukrainian and Russian is mostly forest that opens up to farm fields. This is probably a diversionary ploy to pull Ukrainian troops from the south.
