  1. If society totally collapses, it would be another “Dark Ages” where knowledge and technology is lost and a primitive lifestyle emerges. In cold climates it would be following herd animals, for food and raw material resources, except large herds of animals are gone. In temperate climates it would be using renewable plants and small animals for food and raw material resources, except jungle forests have been cut down and replaced with cities. A survivalist plans to live out a short term disruption of society long enough for modern society to recover without any long term plans to live a primitive lifestyle forever.
