  1. The Canary Islands’ main source of income is tourism. It’s a volcanic island with high permeability of its soil and its aquifer has been greatly exploited for tourism. Their main source of fresh water supply is desalination plants they built. They can’t use seawater to fight the fire because it would destroy the earth for any vegetation to grow again.
