Before Russia invaded Ukraine they had a full war games workup in Belarus with their frontline military units such as the VDV (elite paratroops), Spetsnaz (special forces), their Main Battle Tanks (MBT) and officers. They were basically wiped out and pull from combat to reconstitute.
