  1. The US recognizes dual citizenship with Russia, but Russia does not. She became a naturalized US citizen without renouncing her Russia citizenship, so as far as Russia is concern it’s an internal citizen problem. There is nothing the US can do but protest diplomatically. People with dual nationality often do it for pride of family heritage, but it can bite you in the end.
