If the US Appeals Court sides with the federal judge and agrees with the rulings, there is no legal conflict. The US Supreme Court could just accept the lower court ruling and not hear the appeal and let the lower court ruling stand. The US Supreme Court allowing the Appeals Court to rule first gives the US Supreme Court a way out.

@michaelnoe3095 Only the DC Federal case involving Jan 6 insurrection was appealed and rejected by the federal judge. What are you talking about? The other federal case involving the secret documents in Florida, Trump didn't have presidential immunity.

@charlesyoung2530 During Jan 6 insurrection, Trump was still president. The Florida documents case Trump took the classified documents after Biden became president, therefore Trump was just a citizen.
