The FBI needed to provide a sworn affidavit with evidence of a possible federal crime and provide it before a Federal Magistrate to obtain a search warrant, believing that evidence might be destroyed without the search warrant. The search warrant is still sealed under court orders and the FBI can not reveal the contents of the search warrant, but Trump can reveal the reason for the search warrant by showing it to the public. It must be really bad for Trump if he won’t reveal the reason for the search.
