Beirut, Lebanon was once called the French Riviera of the Middle East with its French style architecture with palm trees, flower beds along its elegant waterfront. The different religions had lived together, until they could not, and war decimated the country. Trump’s idea of rebuilding and all will be well and forgiven, is a simpleton’s view of the world.
