  1. It appears that the LAPD has poor weapons training. A long rifle has too much penetrating power to be fired indoors. In close quarters, the long barrel makes it harder to maneuver around. He should have used his service handgun to find the perpetrator. The officer fired his rifle before determining that he was being threaten or before determining what barriers where behind to contain the bullet before firing at the perpetrator. The body camera shown on another network shows the officer, I assume with an AR-15 type assault rifle, firing three rounds at the perpetrator. In the video, he didn’t identify himself as a police officer or yelling at the perpetrator to show his hands. He fired his AR-15 as soon as he saw the perpetrator.
