OceanGate expedition is a non-profit that runs experimental expeditions using the submersible Titan. People who uses their services are called explorers who funds the cost of the expedition. They are given rudimentary training in expedition duties and are considered crew as a loophole from being sued by their relatives if a failure occurs. It’s basically a one-way ticket and you are not given assurances of a return ticket.

@paulsuprono7225 They had no emergency contingence rescue plans since they only had one submersible. Emergency like airline black box pinger that can operate up to 20,000 ft underwater for 30 days was not in their rescue plans. Their emergency plan was like most weekend sailors, call the US Coast Guard for help.
