  1. For the Japanese it was too little and too late. Most of the Japanese Navy carrier pilots where dead, it would have been a useless offensive weapon. During the battle the Leyte Gulf, the Japanese sent their carriers to lure the US fleet to be sacrifice with no planes onboard.
