A witness is someone they do not considered being criminally involved in the investigation.

News then breaks about Gaetz thinking about leaving Congress to work as a political mouthpiece of some sort at the right-wing NewMax media and suddenly news break that the DOJ is investigating Gaetz for sex trafficking? Like they say, where there’s smoke there is fire. And it appears there is going to be a whole lot of fire.

  5.  @gigi6374  There are two separate issues. One is the alleged sex trafficking and the other is the alleged extortion. The New York Times article told about the alleged sex trafficking. Gaetz is the one who starting talking about the alleged extortion. The guy Gaetz says is extorting him is a lawyer who use to work for the DOJ twenty-five years ago in their north Florida field office. Bill Barr was the one to approve the investigation of the sex trafficking against Gaetz from main DOJ headquarters in Washington DC. Yea, a small time Florida lawyer who had worked in the DOJ field office twenty-five years ago has that much power in main DOJ office in Washington DC.

  6.  @gigi6374  The lawyer Gaetz says that tried to extort him is David McGee, he said his name on Fox. McGee might have a defamation lawsuit against Gaetz. McGee doesn't appear to be worried and his law firm is backing him up. He might have been representing a client pre-lawsuit to settle out of court; think "Stormy Daniel".
