  1. Because of the Monteux Convention, Turkey controls the Bosphorus Strait and has restricted Russian warship from entering into the Black Sea; Russian warships can leave, but not enter. The SA-15 (Gauntlet) and SA-22 (Greyhound) are short range air defense units, which are part of the Russian BTG (Battalion Tactical Group) as mobile air defense systems to protect the armored units. The Ukrainian military has used multiple drones to spoof the much more capable missile cruiser Moskva and sink her; the less capable SA-15 and SA-22 SAMs will have much less of a chance.

  2.  @antimimoniakos  The common factor is air defense, the Moskva was suppose to provide air defense for the entire Russian Black Sea fleet, but couldn't protect herself against an air attack against two missiles. The Moskva had multiple layers of air missiles and guns, which is much more than the SA-15 and SA-22 on Snake Island.
