The move from Kherson over to Moldova would expose the Russian BTGs already stretched logistic supplies to almost impossible limits; if they couldn’t do it on the shorter and occupied areas from Russian Belgorod they won‘t be able to it in the South.

The reason the Russians went with the Battalion Tactical Group (BTG) was to streamline the small combined-arms maneuvering unit’s command and control structure, since the Russians have problems with commanding and controlling larger combined combat arms units. The Russians loaded up the BTG with a lot of firer power, but limited combat endurance and coordination with other units. The Russian’s smaller BTG and the US Army’s larger Brigade Combat Team (BCT) are considered the spear point of any military assault. The US Army has three types of BCTs; Infantry BCT, Armored BCT and Stryker BCT.

@GreatPolishWingedHussars The Russian numbers are KIA, MIA, wounded or prisoners. Based on the shown destroyed Russian armored vehicles; the number should be somewhat close. The Ukrainians were fighting as infantry, which makes the estimate harder. The independent Western news media have been with the Ukrainian military, whereas there is a Russian media censorship of independent news media.
