If the 70-80 armored vehicles destroyed is correct, the Russian military lost a complete front line Battalion Tactical Group (BTG) along with supporting troops in a single attack; at least 1,500+ soldiers. All of this catastrophic destruction using just artillery fire and flying cheap drones for artillery spotting, against a Russian front line BTG force.

The West’s money transfers were for gas purchases on contracts before the invasion. Putin wanted to force the West to pay in Rubles as the payment currency for existing gas contracts, which is not the payment currency on the contracts, to force the West to eventually have to let him buy Western products as the West starts to run out of Rubles; this plan didn’t work out so well. Because of the economic sanctions, Putin is unable to buy any Western products with West’s currencies; it just sits in the Russian banks as pretty colorful banknotes.
