  1. Spirit airline is an ultra-low-cost-carrier (ULCC) where they will charge you for just about everything they can to increase the price of your original low price ticket. You can board only with a very small backpack, purse, or briefcase; they charge for carry-on and checked in baggage. Want to chose a seat, they will charge you for the service. Want to check-in and talk with a human being at the airport; they will charge you. Want a bottle of water while on-board; they will charge you. Since it’s an ULCC, they do not have any inter-airline agreements with any other airline. If there is a mechanical issue or severe weather and they cancel the flight, no other airline will allow them to book you on their airline. If you can travel with just the clothes you are wearing and a few pieces of extra clothing in your small backpack and are willing to sleep at the airport for a couple of nights if your flight is cancelled, then Spirit airlines might be cheaper and quicker than riding on an interstate bus.
