  3. The town of Maricopa ( 18 miles south of Phoenix ) had just a one blinking red light 4 way stop town in the early 1990's when I first went thru it. Now today it think its 57 thousand with home depots and all teh corporate crap ...Amazing

  6. Boulder bought a lot of the land around the city back in the 1970's , Made sure you cant sub divide less than 5 acre parcels outside the city , made a lot of green belt and bike trails . That made having a home in boulder way expensive and exclusive . Prices Soared . Louisville , Laffette , broomfield and Longmont all boomed because you couldnt afford a home in Boulder but Boulder allowed business to come in , 1989 I stood on the hill at the Louisville exit looking down the Boulder /Denver turnpike and it was a traffic jam all the way into Boulder ...that was the day I knew the Boulder I grew up in was gone . Oh well , It was a great place to grow up in the 60's ,70's and 80's ....

  12. The reasons for the low school test scores is from the huge Indian populations on large Indian reservations that cover the state . Of course they NEVER say that because its politically incorrect . yes large swaths of Indian territory and Indian populations means very low graduation rates , Test scores , Funding , lack of teachers willing to go onto the reservations , High alcohol and drug addiction problems and huge unemployment because of large Indian populations . Now if you actually were truthful and reported thr education test scores by Race you would find where the real problems are but they intentionally Lump in the Indian scores which gets sympathy and anger for taxing more to fund education more when the Problem is not the education system by the societal structure . remove the Indian test scores and you will find good academic performance...remove the Indian population from the studies of the addicted and alcoholics and you will find New Mexico actually has very little problems with addictions in the general population . The Dishonest Skewing of statistics and intentional omission of facts of where the real problems exist and the intentional NON reporting of the real problems in the Indian communities intentionally disguises the real problem . New Mexico is great when the reservations and their problems are removed from the statistics.

We build and business thrives in an area then it moves to better areas or newer more conducive and either the remnant becomes a bedroom community or it gets abandoned , found again and revamped . where as Europe cant do that same type of thing because the lack of available land
