@A Yoga Diary yes it does. It seemed like decades ago the news was better about reporting stuff like that in foreign lands. Today though the news is so fluffy and shallow. It reports about celebrities more than it does foreign affairs. Who cares about who divorces who in Hollywood? I would rather know about a war going on in Asia or Africa.

@channelofstuff that's a tad bit paranoid. I was under the impression TV was invented because the inventor thought it would make him a boatload of money. And I think Germany might have had it before America did but I'm not sure about that. At any rate I think the American saw it as a money maker.

@mridlon1634 yeah and then one way worse because it exacerbates global warming but in another way not quite as bad as far as the effect of decreasing the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere.

@CristianMartinez-cr1eo because of the amount of extra carbon dioxide, methane, that we are pumping in the atmosphere. We are talking about huge amounts of cubic tons.

@fredbmurphy we have had cycles of global warming and global cooling in the history of our species. The little Ice Age ended a couple of centuries ago. A great deal of the knowledge of climate Cycles comes from ice core samples and soil samples taken by geologist and analyzed by climatologist and other scientists.

@Sarah-pq8kj solar Cycles is bunk as far as global warming goes. It has a small but not that great effect on climate change. It's the amount of greenhouse gases that is being pumped into the atmosphere by human activity that is causing the problem.

@highlander918 you're right it is not capitalism's sole fault because many developing countries want what the developed countries have and they are willing to industrialize and do so heavily and don't care about the consequences.

@AmericanConstellation that is a small short term cycle. The long-term Trend points to warming. There will be small short term Cycles but they will become fewer and fewer.
