Russian philosophy reminds me of Machiavelli's the prince where he said it was better to be feared than loved.

@tad27612 that was not Our intention though. Nation's only feared us because of your propaganda. Well there were a few examples that we did in our past in Latin America but we realized we were wrong in doing it and so decided to quit doing it. Our intention was never to completely destroy a land like Russia has been doing and tried in chechnya. Not to mention the damage they did in Syria. In Vietnam we completely eliminated the VC as a fighting force. We somewhat lost the peace because after we pulled out the South Vietnamese collapse because they had no will to fight . Same with Afghanistan, they had no will to fight against their cousins in the Taliban. It seems to me too that Russia lost the first war in chechnya and they had to leave Afghanistan with their tails between their legs . Nice try troll. Bot.

I'm not sure if he really did want to be part of NATO or if he was just politicking.

@HungryGhost999 I wouldn't doubt that

Well he was a former Russian who escaped the country and the few Russians I've met my life before 1990 were strongly opposed to the Soviet government. One Russian I met since then was strongly opposed to the current Russian government. They were all more conservative in the sense of Ronald Reagan conservatism than I was. They say they love the land but they hated the government and did not want to go back to Russia ever! That made a big impression on me because they were more pro-american and patriotic than I was at the time. That right there says a lot .

Yeah the Russian Federation will probably start breaking up especially as they keep pulling troops from the Far East China keeps putting people and investment in the area while Russia is trying its best to depopulate it. The longer this war drags on the more likely it's going to happen Russia will lose a lot of its Far Eastern territory to its dominant partner China.

@susansprague7304 I was wondering if that would happen.

Makes one wonder what Jesus would have said and done if he saw that today
