I think it's all of the above.

Russia might try to pull troops from their Eastern territories but they could end up losing something like the Kirill Islands. Or maybe Tajikistan might get attacked by the Taliban in Afghanistan. So either way it would be costly for Russia.

@paper plane Japan is now bolstering its Defense Forces. They are increasing their military strength. If Russia withdrew some of their Eastern Reserves to fight in the West they could very well lose territory there. For instance, Vladivostok could become Haishenwai again.

Yeah and at times the Soviet Union seemed to be a little more practical and logical than Putin's Russia.

And how is that Victory Parade working so far? Just wait until the Russian people find out how many Mi A's they are going to have. Hopefully some of them can be identified by calling Ukraine and seeing if they can identify all the corpses of Russian troops Left Behind for the ukrainians to bury. Russia didn't even bother to bury their own because they were trying to hide the number of casualties they had.

If Turkey is trying to block Finland from joining they are not saving Finland from becoming another Ukraine but encouraging it.

@randomdude2832 not necessarily. But there's the possibility that they might do it if Finland stays neutral. However that would weaken their forces in Ukraine.
