I’m quite excited for this. Maybe we can finally get our manufacturing base back because we will need it. Plus it will end the liberal economic world order and hopefully stop the consolidation of power.

@alloutlife88 why wouldn’t it? If we need to keep our economy up, we would have to produce things people need. Thus it is a necessity to bring it back.

@sinoroman except that with a weak dollar it would be cheaper to produce in America. Especially considering we could no longer have a trade deficit or have low tariffs on imported goods
7
@rizkyadiyanto7922 well maybe. Probably not though because it would become yo expensive to ship across the sea. If the US dollar is no longer the reserve currency then it would cost more to make it over seas then make it in the US.

@sonneh86 we just need to cut out social programs

@alloutlife88 true. But what I see is if 2008 happens again a revolution will happen. Our political system is so volatile that if given the chance several groups will all scramble for power which will destroy the US and sink the UN and EU and the WEF because the US is the only thing keeping these things propped up at all.

@Aesthetic.Ascetic probably. But I don’t see how it would remain cheap when those currencies would suddenly gain more value because they are no longer being held down by the dollar. Plus if the dollar did collapse I wouldn’t be surprised if those companies are forced to go back into the US simply because any other nation could come in and out compete simply because the currency theyed be payed in would have more value. Plus if the dollar does collapse it’s kinda a civilization ending situation. Like imagine the “summer of love” but on steroids. No one could afford food, or housing. Foreigners would buy up all the land. All monetary gains you have ever had would be wiped away. Like it would be a complete reset.

@Aesthetic.Ascetic right.

@Donner906 nope. We no longer manufacture almost anything in this nation. It’s the reason most of America has had horrible wage stagnation and higher unemployment for decades. Clearly you don’t know wtf you are talking about. Most manufacturing has been outsourced to Mexico. America's manufacturing industry has declined over the past two decades—its global share has fallen from 25 to 17 percent since 1997, with the net loss of 4.6 million jobs.
1
@Donner906 as far as I can see. We have outsourced like 36 million jobs in like the last 2 years. In fact it’s caused ghost towns to emerge. And most of them go to china or Mexico. Plus places that used to make auto mobiles are in complete ruins. Most of our cars wether “American” cars or not, are made in foreign nations
1
@Donner906 like for example. Ohio has suffered extreme losses due to General Motors out sourcing to Mexico. Most toys and games and dvds ect are all produced in china. And no it’s actually the other way around. There are not enough jobs to meet worker demand.
1
@Donner906 and also no. Manufacturing has not double since the 1970s. In fact 1970 was about the peak of American manufacturing. US manufacturing has declined to extremely low levels.
1
@Donner906 other states have not gained manufacturing. Every single government data set o look through show a negative graph. It peaks at 1970 ish and then just drops.
1
@Donner906 and the data set is split between automation and out sourcing. And it shows a direct correlation with the total amount of loss.
1
@aminr4281 because it will cost more to produce products over seas
1
@sonneh86 well sure. It’s often a good paying job. It’s a relatively lower skilled job. It ensures the US economy has more substance then just culture and US dollars. And it’s a great way to reduce poverty by giving people a chance to get a good job.

@jordijimenez2634 eh. It might. The coming dark age would most certainly free us
1
@MonsieurWorldwide it already started to come back before biden. We just tax them or stob buying unless theyvmake it in america
