@OOTurok dont know about older Teslas, but that statement is complete BS regarding model 3/Y/CT. We tried running down one of our Y to below 0% just to see what happened when it shut down completely. Manual release on the inside worked just fine, however from the outside there is no way to get in without an external 12V battery sparking life in the computer again, or breaking the window and reach for the manual release.

@OOTurok hmm, interesting. Seems we have some more testing to do. Would have thought empty battery/shutdown to behave the same as broken/non existant battery. Every day is a new chance to learn something.

@OOTurok yeah, my reasoning was that the manual release would be fully manual, as in mechanically unlock the locks as well. Definitely a design flaw if that is not the case.
