  1. Sachs is a Putin apologist. Yes US foreign policy, like everyone else has its flaws, but Sachs paints Russia as an equal partner in a rational world instead of a dictatorship run solely for its preservation. Russians are fleeing, no one wants to fight Ukraine. Putin has already lost simply by not winning against a far inferior adversary. Appeasing dictators is a losing geopolitical strategy, which both RR and JFK knew.
