A hero for misogyny

Climate denial, dressed up as 'thought'.
4
@DadSavesAmerica Let’s put it this way, you could be focusing on solutions to a very real, apocalyptic disaster that we can mitigate, or you can choose to score political points off painting climate action as crazed lefties. You’ve chosen the low road.
4
LIbertarianism is a fool's paradise, just like utopian socialism. Neither exists in the free world. If someone is selling it, they're either scamming themselves, or in this case trying to scam others
2
@aspensulphate If 97% of doctors tell me I have cancer, I don't go hunting for 3% to tell me the 'good' news.
2
@erikkovacs3097 That 97% is world scientists. Apply logic.
2
Sowell is a mouthpiece for the right. And his only ‘renown’ is on the right. He’s considered a mediocre economist. Buyer beware.
2
@DadSavesAmerica Right v Left is useless? Is that you pretending impartiality? And here's a sample of Sowell's scholarly objectivity "Obama was the worst president ever." That kind of 'scholarship' is why academia leans liberal. As for his economic credentials, explaining core principles of economics is hardly an intellectual reach, especially when those "principles' are often tainted by a libertarian philosophy that is as practical as utopian socialism.
2
As Colbert says "Facts lean liberal'.
2
@Zzyzzyx ‘Women have had diabolical lies told to them.’ Such as?
2
@Zzyzzyx Butker was smart enough not to specify, but the ‘lies’ were undoubtedly the idea of equality for women. What do you think he was referring to?
2
In other news, 6 Mississippi policemen given long sentences for torturing 2 black men.
1
Netanyahu funneled support their way.
1
Not feminisms job. Men are in charge in government, business and religion. What have they done?
1
@aspensulphate Would you be so cavalier if 97% of mds told you you had cancer?
1
@DadSavesAmerica Let’s put it this way. Other economists don’t read him, his readers are us average non-economists. As for his political credentials, he never, never veers from conservative talking points. Example: “Obama was the worst president ever.” Good soundbyte, ludicrous logic. Bush jr started a phony war and got Americans killed to build democracy in Iraq. Sowell’s scholarship is almost always tainted. As for his ‘core principles’, he’s a libertarian, an economic philosophy on a par with utopian socialism.
1
@lairdey Are you defending libertarianism as a viable economic philosophy? Or are you simply spouting ideology? Show me an ‘empirical’ proof that libertarian policies work?
1
@lairdey America like most developed nations runs a mixed economy. It’s not socialism and it’s not small government free market. There are no functioning libertarian economies in the world, nor socialist ones. It’s a mix.
1
@lairdey Oh I’ve heard that conservative ruse before. They’re just ‘social programs’ until an election comes along. Then Obamacare is called socialism, welfare, food stamps etc. Then politicians like Trump and ideologues like Sowell start hollering Harris is a communist, everything is Marxist . There’s no confusion, there’s just a conservative fantasy that a ‘free market’ can operate without government oversight, without ‘social programs’. Just as much a fantasy as socialist utopia.
1
@lairdey As the saying goes, this ain't my first rodeo. I've heard that little maneuver before, many times. Social programs aren't socialism...until election rolls around or Dems try to pass more social programs, then its Trump calling Harris communist, the GOP, pundits like Sowell calling Obamacare socialist, Marxist ad infinitum. That's just semantics and politics. As I said before, there are no purely 'free market' economies, nor purely socialist ones. Libertarians don't even like the Fed, which is hardly a social program or socialism.
1
@Lovin_It Sowell is an ideologue cloaked in cherry picked ‘scholarship’. A shill for right wing talking points. ‘Obama was the worst president ever.’ Really?
1
I'd say the title is flat out misleading. Trump has no use for democracy; he's the wannabe dictator "Dad" is lecturing about.
1
another case of cherry picking your bogeymen. Cancel culture and Wokeism are narcissistic problems? What about the Trump and co? Hilarious, one sided posturing.
1
Not feminism’s job. Men still hold majority positions of power in govt and business. Let’s complain about that.
1
Or why do conservatives reject legitimate elections, which mark the greatest achievement of Western Civ.
1
The single biggest achievement of Western Civ is democracy. The danger to democracy, fair elections, respect for outcomes you don't like, has come from conservative America (see Jan 6 and election denial).
1
@DavidPhilopott-bq9uv Not sure what you are driving at here? Although I understand virtue signaling as conservative code for ‘we don’t like activism’. Defilement of the environment can be pinned on the GOP who are always eager to hamper the EPA and lower public safety standards. Lack of virtue is going to be in the eye of the beholder. I see little virtue emanating from the GOP presidential candidate.
1
Let’s remember that both types of government involve fair elections and peaceful transfer of power.
1
Hilarious
1
Shillenberger selling his grift.. meanwhile Elon wants to eliminate the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, cuz it protects little people from ‘high status males’ like him.
1
Grifters like Schellenberger aren’t adding cred to anything..
1
@hereforthecomments258 What's a vaccine?
1
@pitchforkparty And the GOP does corporate dirty work.
1
@hereforthecomments258 What's a vaccine? Do you support feminism? etc.
1
@pitchforkparty Citizens United, unlimited cash into elections, is a conservative job. So are tax cuts for the rich and underfunding the IRS.
1
@rsr789 Ever wonder why universities tend liberal? You can’t teach objectivity from religious belief.
1
I see no mention of the power of corporations or billionaires in these little ‘history’ lessons, reasons being that the conservatives favor business but are unwilling to take responsibility for its flaws or reining it in. Shallow scholarship.
1
Shillenberger has made a career out of posing as a ‘journalist’, an objective observer, who always ends up spouting half baked right wing talking points. He needs to move down to Phoenix and experience climate ‘alarmism’ in person.
1
Anti war doesn’t make you right wing, it’s meaningless without context. If you support Trump’s caving to Putin, you’re not right wing, you’re just flat ignorant of history. And being pro free speech is also meaningless until you get into the details. Do you support Trump’s attempt to deport a green card holder for his politics?
1
Libertarianism is as realistic as utopian socialism. So, no.
1
@wayneandrews1022 I mean there is no such thing as small government just like there is no such thing as socialist utopia in the real world. I would gladly bet you a large sum that Milei doesn’t turn Argentina into a libertarian dream state. Show me where libertarianism has worked in the real world. A recent Kansas Governor, Brownback, tried and failed miserably. I understand your philosophy but it simply unrealistic on a large scale.
1
@wayneandrews1022 👍
1
@tgb1278 I think you mean capitalism with the SEC, the FED etc keeping it honest. There are no examples of libertarian economies, pie-in-the-sky.
1
@tgb1278 Libertarianism is small govt., we've got big government, just like most of the world. You're confusing capitalism with libertarianism.
1
@tgb1278 . Show me a real life example of capitalism working without big government. Austrian school is theory.
1
@tgb1278 I'm curious where you got the 25-30% number. As for 2008, that's pretty amusing. So you've got Andorra and Switzerland. Not much. And neutrality for a democracy only works when your under NATO's nuclear umbrella. And Switzerland has a checkered past in that regard during WW2.
1
@tgb1278 20-30% says who? Is that in the Libertarian handbook? Switzerland is in the middle of Europe protected by surrounding NATO countries. You have a fantasy view of how world order works. Think if Switzerland was next to Russia it would be a thriving democracy without protection? Sheer naïveté. US govt was big long before 2008 as was the rest of the world, and blaming crash on big government is just your libertarian belief system, not backed by facts.
1
@tgb1278 As far as I know there is no libertarian handbook about the correct size of govt. The US govt is currently in that 25% range. If that were a libertarian number, we wouldn't have libertarians screaming to abolish the FED, the FDA, the SEC, the FBI etc. Cuba and Switzerland are outliers; the US is not about to take on communism nor is it likely to slash military spending, which would quickly lead to Chinese and Russian aggression. And 2008 changed nothing; if you can show me proof that it did, please do.

The black community, just like its white counterpart, is not happy with female empowerment. Simple. Listen to a few rap songs.
