It's the exact same argument people have been making since the '60s when women's rights were just crawling on all fours. And that '90% of women are chasing 5% of the men' line is just incel paranoia. Not every woman is a gold digger, just like not every guy is a playa. When we get to a rough equality in religious, government and corporate positions of power, feminism will become unnecessary. In the meantime, 90% of the violence in the world, rape, domestic abuse, murder, shootings, terrorism, dictatorships is attributable to religious fundamentalists or just plain old vanilla masculinity run amok. It's gotta go.

  6.  @redbaron6805  Men and women obviously have different biological drives, especially early in life. Young men want to hook up and women may more often want a relationship. But I’m not sure what you’re suggesting the answer to that is. If you think it’s going back to the old model of women in the kitchen, that ship has sailed. As for women and emotional violence, financial and reputation smearing, those are clearly a problem wherever the law favors women unfairly. But as I outlined, the damage women pose to civilization is infinitesimal compared to the mayhem caused by male aggression. Both sexes are going to have to adjust to a changing reality, which I think will benefit men in the long run. Male suicide is a problem because men are conditioned to be stoic, then won’t seek help. Downgrading macho values will help that problem.

  9. You can be sure that someone talking about ‘peak wokeness’ is a closet conservative. Toxic masculinity is raping, abusing and killing people across the world. Fundamentalist religious groups (all of them) and societies where women are not in an equal power sharing situations are continuing the historical denigration of women. Trumps doing it, Xi Jinping is doing it, Ayatollahs are doing it, Modi is doing it, Orthodox Jews are doing it. These little critiques of ‘peak woke’ may be true to ann extent and entertaining, but they cover the real problem of deadly conflict born from machismo/religious belief.

  18. I like Herzog and respect him on many issues, but this criticism of Western ‘demonization’ of dictatorships in China, Russia, N Korea etc. does not fly. He says there should be a court of law to deal with these problems, as if we can just call Putin into court for throwing journalists and doctors out of 3rd story windows, or attacking Ukraine. That is simple naïveté that leads to destruction in the real world.
