I really like your format. No ads or fill in junk, no music, no voices. Just the music of mother nature. It is a pleasure to watch your videos.

Only 2 people outside and just a few cars moving around. What a dismal place it has become. That 's what happens when economists are allowed to run the show.

This is one of your most "prosperous" location vids. What I like is the lack of graphics, ads, sponsorships, no shrilly man bun voices or shrieking woman voices, no music or other noise. Just the rumble of the engine and the photography. If you do the interviews, which would be good, it would be better to section your videos so we can maintain your present excellent format of letting the camera do its job.
35
That is high end ghetto compared to many of your previous videos.

There are lots of tow trucks for such a small town.

A short video this time and I see why. You are brave to venture there at night. Note to myself: Never go to Philadelphia.

I agree. Truly stunning in its depression atmosphere. And row upon row of ugly apartment buildings. Hard to see any well maintained buildings. And the sight of the church was pitiful. Only a few people outside in Chester. Trees growing in the abandoned buildings.
7
Not as bad as many of the northern cities you video in. Looks like big improvements can be made by hauling away the excess rubbish.
7
The town does look average but hey that courthouse annex looks great, there to remind the po' folks where their hard earned tax money goes. Even the fast food joints have moved out.
7
Certainly. No electronic noise, no graphics, no sponsor ads, no narration. Just the moving pictures providing the story.
6
Compared to Chester PA and a few others, this is like heaven. Sunshine, clear blue skies, people too numerous to count, only a few buildings and houses that were total losses. Most areas look well kept.
5
That is the beauty of his videos. No music, ads, fancy graphics, no voice just the hum of the engine while the camera does the work.

At least 3 pawn shops. Harlan must be near Olive Hill and Butcher's Hollow. Patty Loveless and Tom T Hall have written songs about Harlan. Always wondered what the place looked like. Now to Google earth for more viewing.
5
Especially in the "richest" country in the world. Scenes rarely visible in other western countries. Reminds me of why Tom T Hall recorded "the Promise and the Dream".
5
Looks like there were some really nice buildings there both industrial and residential. The elites destruction of the American middle class on display here.
4
Never seen a city with so many paver base roads. What a shame that the city has gone to the dogs.

@hoodsnhollers Well I do love the heat. My body as it gets older has trouble coping with temps below 20 deg C. I lose too much body heat and cannot generate enough heat to keep warm. So I do prefer the hotter weather situations. Here in Australia there is only snow in the mountains, so I do not have to live now in midwestern winters that I grew up in.
4
The absence of those contributes to the somber atmosphere of these videos. Which makes great impact on ones' mind.
4
I wondered about that and will say the house looks lived in.
3
5 cent coca cola sign looks fresh. The paint used must have been top grade paint. Up there since the 1950s.

Tom T Hall sings "A Hero in Harlan"

@hoodsnhollers 😀

Some weird ultra low speed limits. Solid yellow lines, and water plant looked vacant and non functional.
2
Was Hal Greer Dr named after a basketball NBA player?
2
Greeting sign at start is best looking part of the town.😒

Use Google Earth to find the locations. I like the videos with the current format.

I see an unusual number of blue and green houses.

A big improvement over Detroit.
