  1. So here is why the US gets to do whatever it wants. It's the dollar. You see, prior to Nixon, we had to back the dollar with gold. Nixon did away with the gold standard. He said "We're not going to back the dollar with gold". He said the dollar is only as valuable at the world says it is. It's called a "market basket economy". So we get to print money that has no backed value. Everyone has agreed the dollar will be the world currency. So literally we owe trillions but it's imaginary. The US can just decide no, we aren't paying....but this would kill the world economy. So the US just gets to spend whatever pretend money it wants because it prints the pretend money that the world is based upon. I mean not to take it so far to the bare bones but the US holds the world economy hostage. The US can always outspend other nations because the US can print the money and merely add to their pretend debt. This isn't rocket science.
