  1. According to Merriam-Webster:: "Miracle - 2. An extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment. Example: The bridge is a miracle of engineering." By your definition engineering shouldn't be described using the term "miracle" either, but one of the common definitions and usages does not need to include divinity or superstition. One definition certainly does, but it is also used without that connotation.

  2.  @wasup2381  It's entirely appropriate usage in the second definition. That is common usage as well as the first.
