  6. I'm an American and I watched so many videos from former Labor enclaves that said no way to Corbyn's socialism. Families that voted Labor for generations voted the other side. i was so taken by their stories. I'm so proud of our cousins in Britain. I mean that in a literal way. I was brought to tears with people taking stock and voting the way they did. I can imagine how hard that is. My family has been Democrats for decades and I'm a Republican. It's tough to be a conservative in California.

  9. The US Government didn't bar New Yorkers from using the fast track because they allow Illegal immigrants to get a driver's licence. The US govermnment barred them from using the service because part of the law says the US govermnent cannot use the driver's license state database to determine if someone commited a crime that would PRECLUDE them from using the fast track service. New York told they feds they can have no access to check a driver's criminal history so the feds said well, then since we can't be assurred anyone isn't a convicted drunk driver, etc, we're not safe in letting New Yorkers use the fast track flying PRIVILEGE. It isn't a right to use that service, it's a privilege.

If you think the Republican Senate is going to convict Trump, you're deluded. Our unemployment is the lowest in decades, African Americans and Hispanics have the best unemployment EVER. We added 266,000 good jobs this month when the experts said it would be about 100K. And now with Brexit we are expecting a great deal with Britian on trade like the old days when Britain wasn't part of that failing world order.

Pelosi doesn't get to call the shots in a Senate trial just like the Republicans had no say in the Democratic sham of an impeachment inquiry. The Senate is under NO obligation to have anyone testify. That ship has sailed.

  37.  @jdanon203  And the feds have the ability to withhold funding to those municipalities that do not enforce federal law and in many instances hinder federal law enforcement. So a state can decide if it wants federal funding or not. Many states did not have a 21 year old drinking law. In many states the law was 18. The feds said fine, if you wish the drinking age to be 18, the feds will not subsidize your highways. They did the same thing when states didn't want to adopt a 55 mile per hour speed limit to conserve fuel. So yes, states can decide to do such things and the feds can respond by withholding federal funding. The courts work it out.
