  1. +Nick, you've obviously never been to the 99 Cents Only stores in California. The products are the same as in a regular market. Everything is just 99 cents. So they buy up say KRAFT shredded cheese that only has a month left and sell it for 99 cents. Or they buy Oscar Meyer sliced turkey or beef or chicken but the sell buy date isn't three months out, it's one month. So if you are going to use it now or freeze it, you save a fortune. I just got Oscar Meyer Maple Bacon (16 ounce size) for 99 cents. It has a date to expire next month. I'm just going to use it now ;) I save so much money it's absurd. The problem is the same products aren't there all the time because they buy overstock, so it's stock up on bacon while they have it and brand name sliced chicken or turkey the next day when they have that. it's always fun for me to see what they have on a given day. But I can see how it's hurting regular markets. I only shop at say Ralph's for a few items I can't get at "99 Cents Only" Most everything in the store dude. Today they had Dreyer's Ice Cream half gallons....99 cents. People wait at the coolers at around 11 am to see what the truck dropped off that day. Couple weeks ago it was 16 ounce precooked baby back ribs in BBQ sauce. The racks sell for about $12.00 in Ralph's....99 cents that day. I grabbed a handful and froze a few racks. ;) My favorite is when they have their cheese day (usually Wednesday). They'll put out brand name containers of feta, brand name balls of mozzarella and top notch sliced cheeses. I stock up on cheeses. Athena Feta for 99 cents ;)

  2. I go to the "99 Cents Only" store every day. I'm obsessed. I find major products every day for 99 cents that cost $6.00-$10.00 at a regular supermarket. I visit three different ones in my city alone to see what deal I can find in each that day. It's just great. The 99 Cents Only stores in California also sell produce. It's absurd the money I save.
