  1. They did that because the senate was conservative and the white house was liberal. His caveat was the "new rule" applied to "at least a lame duck president". Trump isn't a lame duck. Trump has a duty to nominate. The senate and the presidency are conservative. Trump is the president who we elected; she died during his presidency. Believe me, they WILL vote on the nomination. Those senators who she said were vulnerable have already said today they will vote on a nomination. That being said, either Amy Barrett or Joan Larsen would be great. So the short list is about 5 or 6, but I'm hoping it's one of those two. I hope it's not Britt Grant or Allison Eid, but if they're the options, they're better than a leftist.
