Toki Pona: I'll just take you home! Ithkuil: I'll take you somewhere random and you have to find your way back home, blindfolded and spun around so you're so disoriented you can't just memorize which way you were facing initially.

Habsburgs: Too distantly related! I need to marry my siblings! SWEET HOME ALABAMA

Lol. Imagine if say, your fourth cousin, twice removed was called ‘great-great-grandparent’s sibling’s great-great-great-great-grandchild’. Don’t want to live in that world!

Then why is your paternal parallel cousin fine? Why is your maternal cross cousin not fine?
3
Ok. What about your partner's sibling's partner's sibling then?
2
Or your sibling's spouse's sister, or your spouse's sibling's wife or your sibling's spouse's sibling's wife or your spouse's sibling's spouse's sister etc.

@crusaderACR Isn't it already against their religion to have uncle/niece marriages?

But a statement like '3 divides 4' (which is false) would be 3|4. I think that a 'mathematical word order' would be VSO as that's what predicate logic uses

I've seen another comment say Dravidian as your parallel cousins could be half-siblings from a secret affair. The same is true of cross cousins, but that would require incest. Though I think it's dubious as your cross cousins could actually be double-first cousins from a secret affair without incest, which has the same genetic relation (.25) as half-siblings. The same is true with more distant relations. It prevents you from marrying your half-first cousins, but not your double-second cousins despite them having the same genetic relation (.0625) So moral of the story, just avoid marrying close relatives. Regardless of whether or not they're parallel or cross cousins, they might actually be twice as related as you think!

@daisychains6866 Does this mean that sibling marriages are fine as long as their children don't commit incest?
2
a) twins exist and b) The policy is gone now

Your first cousin's children

3:47-3:58 Given the complexity of the Chinese Kinship system, I would be surprised if it could even be solved in polynomial time!

So like how writing 8 as two circles looks wrong?

@Shenzhou. Oh, ok.

Probably just arbitrary conventions. Like not writing 8 as two circles!
