  1. My mother is a first gen born of immigrants from Yugoslavia. She has memories of Erskineville being a crime riddled area. I went recently to the street my grandparents lived on. Heard 2 murderers lived across the road from them in the 60's. My mum also remembers playing out the front as a 6 year old girl and innocently directing a criminal on the run through an alley so he could prevent being apprehended by detectives!
