I think you're undervaluing the effects of the literal wave after wave of men the Soviets sent vs the best the Germans had to offer. +18 million dead, but they ground up the German elites with attrition, and kept forcing them back.

As a guy who had to dig shrubs up to 1.5m tall in a former gravel pit (for a nursery), watching these guys struggle to dig is amazing.

I've never quite figured out how Uber convinced the various govs that they aren't a taxi service. I mean, they literally get notified, send a driver who then drives you, and the driver/company get paid. It seems like the kind of loop hole that a judgement could have decide, rather than pretending Uber is some wild new invention that has nothing in common with previous tech, and that entirely new legislation needed to be made.
