@Joose Socialism has literally nothing to do with dictatorships, almost none in history were remotely socialist. Will Stone be pardoned? I'll be pleasantly surprised if he isn't.

Seeing you guys lower yourself to analyze this movie is glorious... Why can't these kind of movies be better made? I mean I know why, the cause itself alienates most of Hollywood (from big names to the guy holding a flashlight off screen in internet porn), so it's talent pool is shockingly shallow, but that's not the only issue I'm sure. I feel like it's easier to cast the victims in those centipede movies I (thank all that is holy) have never seen, I feel like you have to be pretty far out of vogue to take this kind of work.

Surely an important federal judge has to know what 'retain' means in legalese???? I'm not a lawyer and I know what the term means, and it has nothing to do with previous employment, or having already had them around (that's a colloquial definition, and not the technical term). Anyone who's had to use a lawyer should be familiar with retainer (which also is not the dental device, I'm surprised she didn't reach for that, maybe she'll try that next?).

It wasn't lost on me that as soon as trump was officially going broke again people started pretending truth social wasn't a humiliating failure and wanted to buy it for billions... it's almost like their is a conspiracy to keep his worthless, corpulent corpus afloat.

I feel like pointing out that there are places where hate speech of various sorts is restricted by law, the US isn't the grand arbiter of anything incase you weren't aware, countries get to make different (and better) laws as they see fit.

While I support the strikers, those poor trees! A Ficus can handle a heavy pruning, but those seem very excessive, especially on the upper portion where you aren't as likely to have a problems for traffic (and that provide plenty of shade I'd figure). IMHO this is just corporate ghouls doin' their ghoulin', such as it is.

Ugh, you know those $$$ 'charity' things that rich people do (you know, all of them) are scams, right? They don't actually donate anything to charity, they just move money to accounts that are called 'charity' that are invested normally, and then the profits are funneled into the hands of the rich people via dumb/obviously crooked contracts.

Yeah, I'm not surprised the US isn't big on holding anyone responsible from positions of authority like the police, if you can hold them to account, they can't do things like kill unarmed civilians of certain skin tone without facing serious consequence (most of the time anyways). In Canada, I've heard that there is actually a legal responsibility to report certain types of crime you have knowledge about (IE child abuse), and you can be prosecuted for not reporting.

It's really horrifying seeing your country just sit there and take this kind of abuse from it's SC. People should be rioting in the streets over this, demanding the courts be reformed immediately. The SC thinks it's a bunch of old testament judges who get to make up law, not merely read it, and as such they're literally making shit up now, whole cloth.

How long until this POS gets sued for wrongful death and other civil abuses of others' rights? I'm guessing if he managed to find some money, he'd be an easy target, and the right wingers just love him for murdering for their cause so they'll probably prop him up. Hope he gets sued hard!

I for one drink coffee in large part because I actually like how good coffee tastes, coffee is a truly wonderful, complex flavor, and it doesn't need to be paired with milk or sugar to be appealing, it's delicious on it's own!

Just watching this, and I've been known to enjoy caffeine, but that's an absurd amount of it. It's nice enough to have a coffee, and while I don't generally think of caffeine as a dangerous substance, this much is too much without a warning of some kind, to market it as a lemonade seems nutso. For that Dr, not everyone reacts to caffeine the same way, not everyone has sleep cycle disruption from having a large coffee literally right before bed, I know because I wore a garmin for a few years to track what actually DID help or hurt my sleep. Similarly, some people sleep a lot better if they drink a bit of alcohol, other people suffer, THC is similar, low dose (or edibles) can help you sleep, but smoking a high dose is EXTREMELY bad right before sleep. The issue here is learning what your sleep requirements are and adapting to those, when I gave up coffee for lent for example it was almost impossible to stay up past 8pm, and that was with me drinking tea all day (and I mean A LOT). Slept like an absolute babe, drinking tea seems to actively help my ability to sleep for some reason. The worst thing for my sleeping habits all told has to be working too hard, stress just tanks my ability to sleep.

While I can't see how (even if it wasn't apparently against the law already) you could sue a foreign government and win when your court doesn't have any authority over them, and can't enforce it's rulings. Regarding suing the US gov, their could be a basis for that, but the politicians have set up a system where a politician can only really be held accountable if other politician are willing to throw them under the bus, and I strongly suspect that US politicians will completely side with even the enemy party due to the 'dangerous precedent' of suing a president for a huge screw up, since the republicans have proven time and again they will abuse anything available to them. Regarding suing Fox, the various courts are stacked at this point, and no group that actively supports the republicans will be facing consequences for toeing the party line for a long time I suspect.

I think you've gotten psychosis confused with psychopathy, which is a common error. I don't think these two men had any all that aberrant beliefs that they hold very firmly regardless of evidence, as a person with psychosis will, but the two are very, very psychopathic, in that they cared nothing about the boy's rights. Psychosis is mostly dangerous to the person suffering from it, while psychopathy is dangerous to society as a whole. TBH, I think this kind of story should be a mandatory topic of study for anyone writing 'genius' characters. Ffs, being very good at problem solving puzzles doesn't mean you intrinsically understand how a thing like police procedure has been refined and improved over the years. Their is a big difference between intelligence and education, and lots of writers in Hollywood and elsewhere would be wise to pay attention to that. If these two would have just hung out for a few months with the police, which being smart and charming they easily could have, they'd have gotten away with their crime quite easily. Instead, they read crime novels, and thought that was actionable information.

I think the big flaw in the whole 'the two parties will just keep doing it over and over' slippery slope argument is that one side is blatantly cheating already, and will continue to get worse, as their voters did not punish them in the least in the last election. Dems would be delusional at this point to think that the republicans won't be abusing their power again, as soon as they have it. Putting real checks and balances in might help, but the republicans have no qualms about abusing those too, for example blocking countless reasonable attempts by Obama to pass good, centrist laws. The real problem with the Supreme Court of the US is that one of the parties has abandoned ethics, and the other party is still trying to be ethical.
