So this is just an open scam, and was allowed because it was rich (oh, and very conservative)people who wanted to do scamming (I'm guessing they didn't take a lot of bids) and get a lot of money for nothing? Sounds very American actually. Capitalism is the only hell! TBH though this whole thing reeks of sabotaging a city's future, like what was done to Detroit over and over until it was a scarred husk hovering perpetually on the edge of complete collapse. This is what happens to a city when the establishment notices that too many people who aren't toeing the line in a city, they tank the shit out of it as punishment for being too progressive. It's the same reason corporations close down union workplaces, even if they are profitable, it's not just about profit, it's about controlling the future for the cause of evil.

Yeah, there is literally no reason to even use an actual photo of an actual person these days, any company with a brain is just using AI to generate a 'person' who can then advocate for their awful causes, why risk having an actual person who can say 'hey, I didn't say that shit!' when you can just make one up? Also I hope the people doing this astroturf shit fall down an abandoned well, imagine working hard to destroy the only planet we can live on!
