Um no they didn’t

Um you seem to lack a grasp on the actual actions of the US. 1. The US was already involved against Germany and Italy by late 1942. However the focus as agreed upon by the Big 3 was to knock Italy out first and establish a foothold through "Europe's soft underbelly." Also the US didn't join, they were declared war upon by Germany and Italy. And you are aware the subsequent western front was specifically requested by Stalin because his own logistics were stretched to a breaking point. 2. The US made trades with Germany before the Nazis took power, I don't see how this is a fault on the US.

That makes no sense bud. Going by that logic. The Brits couldn’t had won against the American Rebels because they lost in our own timeline even though they had many chances to utterly crush us

@pyrokrensis67 once again. That has no sense. Could and would are 2 separate things. As is could and did.
1
@pyrokrensis67 omg. U really don’t understand how analyzing history works.

@pyrokrensis67 once again, that’s not where the history debate lies. But what has happened is different from possibility and that’s part of studying history is looking at the alternatives

They couldn't.

Um no he didn’t. That makes no sense

@aljazlm1030 which again, anyone with half a brain would understand declaring war on a country over that in a time where u are already tied by not 1 but 2 major powers is borderline suicidal

@endloesung_der_braunen_frage Ok and this is something I explained already. Basic common sense would make clear that you should not declare war on a superpower an ocean away when you already tied by the British and Russians.
1
@endloesung_der_braunen_frage Well no shit. That doesn’t change the fact that anyone with a half decent logic would come to understand rather quickly that declaring war on a superpower when you are already in unfinished wars with 2 superpowers may not be the best decision. Especially when one super power didn’t collapse when the Nazis thought they would, proving that perhaps their enemies were more powerful than predicted and maybe be a little over their heads

@sb17899 Except they weren’t. What you are confusing it with is naval escorts the US gave to Britain when Lend Lease was being provided but that was far from an official war declaration. On top of that, the larger point is until an official declaration did happen, the US was having a hand tied behind its back.
