  1. Or it could just result in fighting continuing. The fact of the matter is often killing someone’s “leaders” often martyrs them and in their minds validates their cause. Now I will agree Lincoln was probably a little too soft and men like Jefferson, Stevens, and Lee should have been imprisoned for at least a period of 10-20 years, age being a factor in that sentence.
