  1. I swear this channel has taught me more about the eastern front in one day than what schools and documentaries can do in 5 years. It's a shame the eastern front isn't covered more in world history classes since it's at least in my opinion the most important part of the war. 1941 - 1943 is the True Rise and Fall of the Reich to me. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work.

  5. Mark Summers not really true in the slightest. Once again, a Soviet high command existed. So Stalin being taken out yes would hurt things, but it’s not a single hand deathblow. Also that has to work with the assumption that Stalin doesn’t leave Moscow which he more than likely would

  9. Dejan Vranic Germany actually didn’t go through manpower shortage until 1943 and up until that point was perfectly capable of combining Soviet troops and occupying Soviet territory if you don’t believe me then look up the German reinforcement count

  15. Christopher problems. 1. North Africa was barely supplied. 2. The deficit of oil was going to cause the Germans to run out of consistent oil by October of 1941. After that, they could not fuel their entire war machine. 3. The invasion of Russia had to happen. If it didn’t, they would not have the fuel to do it later and Russia would be stronger as time goes on

  18. Chandler White define heavy equipment. Also by mid 1941 they were getting better equipment thanks to USA lend lease. And it’s not even about the army but the navy which isn’t going away. Like I said the Royal Navy plus the lack of German logistics made taking the Middle East near impossible. Also invading the Soviets in 1942 would not work either. First of spring is horrible timing. But secondly because the Soviets would of been fully organized and prepared for war at this point. Also Germany pulling a two front invasion of the Soviet Union is laughable

  21. george cromarty ur missing the point. It wouldn’t work. Bombing campaigns alone rarely get surrenders out of a Totalitarian state at the height of their power. It would piss them off more than anything. And so unless the USA is willing to commit Nuclear Genocide. It won’t gain the results they want. Plus no one would want to do it. It would be political suicide

The reason the US got the means for the amount of bombings in our own timeline is that the political situation allowed it. Germany and Italy were already out, Japan was alone, and was on the verge of losing anyway. Even in our own timeline, the US was only going to drop one more bomb on Japan before launching Downfall. Once again, the notion that USA or British leaders could do that without committing political suicide is preposterous. Once again, the US and British people would not allow Nuclear Genocide.   27. Mark Summers u clearly aren’t aware of command staff then I suggest u do research on the Soviet Supreme Defense council. What do u call people like Zhucuv, Temichenko, Kruschev when u refer to no Soviet leaders. What do u refer to when discussing Soviet high command. Yes Stalin did the purge but ur ignoring 2 factors. One it wasn’t the entire command staff. Second, not all purged members were killed. Many were sent to the Gulag and were taken out during the German invasion.

  28. Mark Summers Stalin did not leave Moscow in our own timeline because he didn’t need to. If the Germans actually had a serious chance in taking Moscow then Stalin would more than likely leave. They already had a second capital set up.

The Soviets won’t surrender, the fight keeps going, and the Germans cannot compromise an operation at that scale for a manhunt. So press start to try again. Which books do u read? Cold War propaganda? It’s amazing just how ignorant u r. I wouldn’t do these insults but given that ur first response tried to belittle me, I have little sympathy for ur sad lack of knowledge of history. Word of advice, get ur head out of Cold War prop and actually research the Soviet high command. It takes a good search.
