@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова um here’s the history. Ukraine became an independent nation after the collapse of the Soviet Union and has been recognized as such by the UN. As such Russia has no right to make such invasion especially when Ukraine even made a deal with Russia to return its nuclear arsenal in exchange for security guarantees

@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова I never said they did.

@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова I don’t agree with the US actions there either and people were right to condemn us back then just as Russia is being condemned now

@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова hmmm funny question. It’s a good thing we never alienated Canada or Mexico to the point where they felt the need to do that. Alliance protections are done mostly out of fear of aggression. Something Russia has done consistently throughout its history. But likely the US would cut off much of its trade and further fortify its border. We wouldn’t be invading though I can tell you that much
1
@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова there was no promise not to expand NATO. The closest the truth you could argue was a verbal agreement was done between Bush and Gobetrov back in the days of the Soviet Union that NATO would not expand into east Germany after the withdraw of Soviet troops and assets. Even disregarding the fact that it was never a legal binding agreement, it was made mute when Germany reunified on its own and when the Soviet Union collapsed.

@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова The broken treaties with the Natives were done over 2 centuries ago so once again I don't know if you want to go with that whataboutism unless you are prepared to hold Russia to the same standard. Also define recent, the USSR stopped existing. Treaties with a regime that no longer exists is made pretty mute. So unless you are prepared to use an actual recent example of the US violating a treaty, I suggest finding new ground to argue.

@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова The Cuban Missle Crisis you mean. And yes we drew a line to prevent allowing the entry of nukes. That had nothing to do with Cuba allying with Russia.

@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова Once again back in the 1800s? The US has not carried action against Mexico within the last 30 years, even before that. The drug and illegals are a problem though. As for Canada, we have been operating as an ally with Canada since WW2. So once again I don't really see what point you are trying to make.
1
@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова Ok your point is completely based on a whataboutism. No different than what if your wife tried to kill you. It's possible but for most people as so far off that it is not worth even considering. And I already answered how the US would likely respond given its track record. It would likely cut off trade, fortify the border, and maybe resort to sanctions. The US usually will deal with what it perceives as a threat through economic strangulation rather than military incursion. Much like how we responded to Imperial Japan's conquest of China during WW2. Also you only have to look as far as the Zimmerman telegram to understand that Canada and Mexico don't have an interest in combatting the US.

@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова once again I never acted as if some of the US’ outlook hasn’t been somewhat hypocritical, ignoring Russia operated in doing the same thing as the Soviet Union. Just saying you can’t absolve Russia of its own shit when comparing the two nations within the same time frame. Also to note that I don’t believe two wrongs make a right. So I will just as easily condemn the US when it does terrible actions as much as Russia. However the key difference is the US’ sins exist in its past while Russia’s is existing now.

@ЕкатеринаИгуральникова "These are not just a two wrongs but too many wrongs done by US recently.." - Like? "But many too many wrongs..And I'm not talking just past wrongs but present wrongs too.USA is being involved in Ukraine right before the war and it's being involved right now by fueling this conflict ..." - That isn't a wrong. The United States as a nation has a legal obligation to Ukraine as the US is one of the 3 nations that promised to ensure Ukraine's security in exchange for Ukraine returning its nuclear arsenal to Russia. "So the US 's wrongs are never stopped..And it is not just in Ukraine but in Syria and Iraq too." - Firstly there isn't any actions the US have recently done in Syria or Iraq "USA has installed illegal military bases on these countries oilfields without any consent of these countries governments. So US has been practically stealing other countries oil." - You are missing my point. Once again you are doing a whatabotism. I don't support what the US did then anymore than what is happening in Ukraine now. And the thing I would simply mention as that it has nothing to do with Ukraine itself.

Not even slightly. If Russia wants an open fight against the US and NATO, have them invade an actual NATO nation and wait to see how long it would take before Moscow has a US flag
1
Nope. No promises on that end were made to Russia

Also nice try on whataboutisms.
