  2. @Olengher I guess once you've built your factories, damns and channeled the rivers, such tasks are done and doesnt need to be expanded on. Or at least not at a rate that would solve unemployment. It's a challenge for all European countries the unemployment, theres no obvious solutions, as you say service based enterprises can only go so far.

  5. @dinfg6 they are similar, but i don't think North Korea will fall to a popular revolution, it has a huge army and the soldiers are generally treated better than most people, they are also very politicised. The Romanian army of Ceausescu was small, and somewhat neglected compared to the securitate (the secret police and armed police) and most of the Romanian army supported the people.

  7. The building is awesome but the people suffered in order to build such extravagences. Ceausescu was a bad leader, for a while things looked good but when things got bad he ignored the plight of the working people while claiming to be their champion. But he got what he deserved.
